Championship Baseball resides in Kansas City. It is not in Missouri though. Kansas City Kansas is the home to the Kansas City Monarchs. The 2021 American Association Champions. The Monarchs (formerly the T-Bones) play out at Legends Field in Kansas City, KS. Independent League baseball returned to the area when the T-Bones played their first game in 2003. The team enjoyed decent crowds and good success until 2018. It looked like the team was going to fold, until new owners came in. New owners brought in a new vision and the team was rebranded as the Kansas City Monarchs. Baseball season in this league runs from May through September. The tickets are cheap, the hotdogs are reasonable, and the beer is cold. The Monarchs are a wonderful alternative to major league baseball and are a family-friendly environment for baseball fans of all ages.
